Data released a few days ago by the Japan Automotive Dealers Association shows that Toyota has not one but two of the best sold cars in the country. The Aqua hatchback is the best sold car with 26,543 units last month, followed by the Prius with 23,069 units. The top three ranking is rounded up by the Honda Fit.
"Aqua" is the domestic market name for the hybrid Prius c. It's a supermini based on the Yaris chassis and powered by 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 74 hp, and mated to a 45 kW electric motor. Combined output is exactly 100 hp, which is enough to push it to 100 km/h (62mph) in 10.7 seconds in combination with its CVT gearbox.

Honda is doing better in the equally popular kei car market. The new N Box registered 23,723 sales, securing the number one spot. Below it, Toyota sub-brand Daihatsu sold 19,123 and 17353 Move and Mira models.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
