When purchasing a BMW you have two choices when it comes to picking up your car. You can either just have it delivered to your local dealership or you can go for a different package that allows you to travel to BMW’s headquarters in Germany and pick it up yourself. Of course, the second choice has a different price though, as you might’ve guessed.
However, a lot of people don’t know exactly what is included in the European Delivery package. Well, fortunately, BMW Canada has a video that tells you almost everything you need to know about what you can and can’t do during such a trip.

Each car has a different price for the European Delivery experience. The thing is, you actually get to pay less for your car initially but, once you pick it up in Munich, it’s up to you to import it into the US or Canada and pay the taxes for it. The taxes can vary by quite an impressive amount so you might want to check out the deal you get in the first place.

After you picked your car and chose European Delivery, it’s time to fly to Germany. Upon arrival you’ll be given instructions on how to get to BMW’s famous Welt museum where you will be introduced to your car.

In some cases (as you can see in the video below) you’ll even get a private tour through the plant where your car is being made to see exactly how it was built before you get to drive it. The factory tour is also complemented by a BMW Museum tour.

After the tours are over and you finally get the keys to your car, it’s time to enjoy it. In order to do so, you can travel across Europe on a circuit that you choose.

You have plenty of options and all the way you will receive the VIP treatment, courtesy of BMW. The Ultimate Luxury tour includes some of the most luxurious 5-star hotels in Europe that are custom-designed into 3 unique programs and range from five to six-days.

For those that have only four days to travel, you can choose two other choices: The Black Forest (which is located in Germany) or The Castle Road. Both of them offer incredible driving roads.

After the driving part is done, it will be time to travel back home. Your car will be shipped to the US and will arrive on the other side of the Atlantic in 6 to 8 weeks for the East Coast and 8-10 weeks for the West Coast. When it reaches American ground, an advisor will contact you to let you know when to pick it up.

While you’re at it, you can also enjoy one of BMW’s driving schools to let you know how to deal with the power of your new car.
