What If the 2016 Nissan Micra Looked Like This?

Just a couple of weeks ago, Nissan startled our imagination with a sharp-looking concept called Sway. Now it’s Theophilus Chin’s turn to play mind games with a rendering that hints at a possible face for the upcoming 2016 Nissan Micra.
We’ve always appreciated a piece of well-executed design work and when it comes to Theophilus Chin, you know that only good stuff comes out of his mind. This time, the internet’s automotive manipulator tried to transform Nissan’s Sway concept into a car that’s more production oriented and less dominated by aggressive styling cues.

This doesn’t mean that Chin’s idea of a future production Nissan Micra is all about rounded edges and happy faces, because that’s not the case. The supermini’s front end still looks like it wants to eat someone but we don’t mind at all.

The front grille retains that inverted trapeze shape but the headlights are shorted and close to reality design-wise. We do like that the designer kept a good proportion of the minimalistic air of the original Sway concept.

Until we hear more about the 2016 Nissan Micra, we’ll tell you what we know so far. The model’s production will be swapped from India to France at the Flins factory near Paris, so the new Micra will somehow tighten relationships with his peer, the Renault Clio 4.

Whether Nissan decides to draw inspiration from the Sway concept and make a new Micra that will have us falling in love in the blink of an eye or just sticks to old tricks is hard to tell. All we can hope for is that they embrace the first situation.
