BMW drivers have a reputation for not being the … most respectful of the bunch, if you catch our drift. When it comes to BMW M drivers, things get even worse, a lot of people claiming that the ‘Most Powerful Letter in the World’ simply seems to be draining people’s common sense.
However, most of the time, the disgruntlement goes from drivers of other brands towards Bimmerheads but what happens when two hotheaded BMW M5 drivers meet up? That’s what we have in the video below, where one seemingly annoyed lady wants to drag race from a stop light. Or does she?
According to the video description she just randomly started dissing the poster in traffic, without him challenging her in any way prior to that. At least that’s what the driver of the E60 M5 claims… He also says that she had a tough time overtaking an SUV before stopping next to him at the light. Apparently she didn’t like the fact that people didn’t acknowledge her ‘Queen of the road status’.
‘You don’t wanna race me, I have the M5, I’ll smoke you!” she says in confidence. Only to say seconds later that she doesn’t want to get a ticket after he tells her that he also has an M5. If you ask me, that’s the perfect excuse to get out of a possible humiliation once the pedal reaches the metal in both cars.
The outcome? We don’t know for sure as the guy recording puts his phone in his lap after starting to drive, leaving us with only the soundtrack of his V10 but he does make a point right before launching: ‘But can you drive?’
The thing is, a lot of people can’t handle power levels like the F10 M5 has and we’re hoping that she got home safe and sound, no matter what she did afterwards. A couple of things do make us wonder if this was staged or not.
If you look closely, there's a truck sitting right behind them, keeping the lane in between free to allow the two drivers to have the little chat we’re discussing here. You can notice it in the rearview mirror of the E60 as they talk. Furthermore, the dialog seems just too cliché to believe it was actually real and not scripted but who knows, maybe all those stereotypes are true after all…
