So far, we’ve shown you plenty of SEMA contraptions, from horrible Scions to Chevy’s sixth-gen COPO Camaro. However, we now want to take the time to get back to the drawing board. Actually, we want to talk about the drawing board, which, in this case, is a welding machine.
This is a story about how many of the awesome custom projects you dream about are created. Heck, you don’t even have to be a follower of the custom fabrication world to appreciate a welder that uses turbo and nitrous power.

Forget about the Ranger shell of the welding machine you see in the image gallery below, which comes from 1320 Video's Facebook page. The 305 D model serving as camouflage here uses a Kubota diesel generator delivering 18.8 hp. First of all, we are obviously dealing with a gas motor here, and rumor has it this is an Onan mill. No specs were offered, though.

This welder can be found on a truck that comes from Welder Up. The Las Vegas-based rat rod specialists only had to travel across the street for the custom vehicle event, so they were more than happy to showcase their hardware. Perhaps the fake patina finish of the truck won't please everybody, but we're not here to focus on that.

Sure, there are simple and perhaps more effective ways of building a welding machine, but we have to admit this is the most impressive one we’ve seen to date.

Then again, this is something we should’ve seen coming from the gas fetishists over at Welder Up. Even if you’re not following them, it’s enough to check out one of their projects in order to understand the league in which these builders play.

Among other odd fantasies, these guys have a thing for diesel rat rods. In fact, you can see one of their most famous oil-burning monsters in the clip below.
