KTM has revealed photos of their upcoming KTM 1290 Super Duke GT sport-touring machine, and it looks like the bike is very close to its final production form.
The GT still has camo wraps on it, so we have no idea on how the final livery or liveries will look like. We suspect that Mattighofen will show at least two graphics options, a sober one with black as the dominant color and harking back to the Beast, and a sportier one, possibly in line with those of the 1290 Super Adventure or 1050 Adventure.

On the tech side, we learn that the 1,301 cc v-twin has received new cylinder heads, revised combustion and new ignition maps to make it less savage and more manageable in casual touring scenarios. Largely based on the Super Duke R, the bike is expected to retain the muscular, robust character but be a bit kinder, at least until switched to the Sport mapping and a heavy hand is laid on the throttle.

KTM 1290 Super Duke GT offers Supermoto performance, as well, at least in terms of ABS settings

Speaking of mappings, the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT will comply with Euro 4 emissions regulations and will offer the three classic modes, Sport, Street and Rain, with 4-way adjustable semi-active WP suspensions and anti-dive, the Motorcycle Stability Control (MSC).

This means traction control and combined ABS, with the latter offering four settings, Street, Rain, Sport and... Supermoto. It's cool to see that KTM has not forgotten about sportier riders and offers Supermoto-trimmed ABS! The fuel tank is said to be able to hold more gas for better range, while the seat and the rear subframe were also revised for longer hauls, a good complement for the taller bars.

Apparently, cruise control, heated grips and quickshifting are also on the standard trim menu, as well as the 8-position windscreen. We are waiting for more news on the engine specs, so stay tuned. Of course, check back with us in November as we'll be shooting this bike and a lot more at the EICMA, and have an exclusive talk with Mattighofen officials, too.

PS: the beak is definitely not our thing!
