Weber to Organize Memorabilia for Schumacher's Return

Michael Schumacher's manager yesterday dismissed rumors that his client could miss the European Grand Prix at Valencia due to a sore neck. Willi Weber insisted such reports are simply speculations and that Schu's training programme for the Valencia race is going as initially predicted.

It is pure speculation to say that Michael will not drive in Valencia. We are making all preparations for the fact that he will be there,” Weber was quoted as saying to the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper.

In addition, the 40-year old's long time manager has already arranged for a merchandising event in the Spanish city, prior to the August 23rd race day. He will therefore mark the return of the 7-time world champion with some memorabilia and certain other merchandising souvenirs, as the comeback of a 7-time world champion is not something you see every day.

Weber's clarifications come only a few days after Schumacher's spokeswoman Sabine Kehm had confirmed, during an interview with German TV station ZDF, that the Ferrarian's return at Valencia is not a done deal.

It is not quite certain yet that his neck will hold and the comeback can be started,” she revealed back then. Her comments were actually an echo to Schumacher's, as the German stated a few days earlier that the beginning of his fitness programme had revealed some pain in his neck.

However, following a 2-day karting session at the Lonato Circuit in Italy that ended yesterday, Schumacher revealed he is feeling more than OK and is ready to resume training back home.

Arms, upper body, shoulders, neck – an excellent practice indeed. In the next days I will keep practicing at home,” said Schumacher.
