Webber Wants to Patch Things Up with Vettel

Mark Webber once again proved that he holds the brains in the Red Bull Racing lineup this season and wrote in his column for Australian newspaper Daily Telegraph that he will have a chat with his teammate Sebastian Vettel to solve the issues from last weekend's Turkish Grand Prix.

The Australian driver was publicly blamed by his team for causing Vettel's crash in the Istanbul race, eventually costing the Austrian outfit a valuable 1-2 finish in the overall standings. While once again explaining his position over the incident – as the entire field of drivers and the majority of the paddock insiders agree it was actually Vettel's fault – Webber insisted this should not disrupt the harmony within the Milton Keynes garage.

Seb and I will sit down and have a chat about it because we need to avoid costly slip-ups like this in the future. We'll probably have a difference of opinion about what happened on Sunday (night) until we go to our graves, but we're both adults and we need to find a way of racing together that doesn't compromise the team,” wrote Webber.

If we'd been fighting for 18th and 19th positions when this accident occurred, no one would have cared; as it was, we were fighting for the lead and it's all anyone wants to know about,” added the 33-year old driver.

Reigning world champion Jenson Button himself admitted that the continuance of the feud between Vettel and Webber for the long run could only mean good news for him and his McLaren team, who have already closed the gap on the Austrian outfit in the championship.

When you disagree with someone like that and have a coming together, you might take your eye off the ball a bit and you might think the most important person to beat is your team-mate. That could really hurt your performance. But they might be fine when they get to Canada. I hope not,” said Button, according to Autosport.

But if they don't it normally means that they won't be sharing information as much. Possibly, I don't know how it works there,” concluded Button.
