Since we have already covered this topic during the course of this week, we'll now focus on the celebration inside the Red Bull garage, where the current leader of the overall classification Mark Webber is turning 34 today. There's no word of a party however, as the team – and Webber himself – are much more focused on how to continue their good form after the summer break, at Spa.
In fact, Webber spoke only briefly of his birthday, telling reporters that his mind is completely set to this weekend's action.
“We can still keep up at these tracks, but whether we have an advantage remains to be seen. We still weren't uncompetitive in Montreal, but we weren't the pacesetters as we were in some other venues. I think if we had to have 17 races in a championship, we wouldn't choose Spa and Monza to have races at, but it's part of the calendar and we have to make the car quick everywhere,” said Webber, according to F1's official site.
The fact that Webber is not much of a beer pal to teammate Sebastian Vettel is no news to anyone, and that was once again proven during the Thursday press conference. When asked about the present he's going to give Webber for his 34th anniversary, Vettel admitted he had no idea Webber is turning 34 this weekend.
“In the hotel they have free shampoos, this kind of stuff,” said Vettel. “Maybe it could be a last minute present… But don’t tell him!”
Last but not least, Michael Schumacher will celebrate his 19th anniversary of his first grand prix in F1, the 1991 Belgian Grand Prix.
