We Need More Chris Harris Videos, Like This One Explaining the RS4

I want to believe I was the first to suggest Chris Harris would be the perfect Top Gear presenter, even though all my colleagues already enjoyed his videos. But even though him working for the biggest car show in the world is theoretically a good thing, the car world is being deprived of his web presence.

Like a Tarantino movie, I want to jump to the ending and show you how I got there. It's all about the Audi RS4 Avant, the new one. There's a million video review on YouTube, but after watching most of them, I still don't feel satisfied. You see, they're all shot in a reactionary fashion by vloggers pretending to own a car they were loaned by Audi or "Hilarious - my 70-year-old mom reacts" or "should I buy this?" kind of stuff, whereas Harris was always the introspect.

I could go back to his EVO videos which are awesome, but this one from The Drive is enough. In it, he does a really good explanation of what Audi RS model are all about, how they are fast but not very fun and how the 2012 model with its V8 engine moved the game on. In combination with the legendary camerawork of a fellow by the name of Neil, it's enough to completely fall in love with the RS4 and start to understand it.

As if that wasn't enough, Harris also brought along a C63, the old one with the 6.2-liter engine. And what's amazing is all this is going on around an official Audi launch event in Germany. You're not supposed to get such comprehensive, comparative info at one of those.

If anything, his videos for Chris Harris on Cars were even better. But there hasn't been one of those in over a year. So what do you say Top Gear, can your superstar start making web content again?

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
