He may have had various midfield roles, but everybody knows that Rooney is a forward footballer. This is pretty much how things go in his personal life too, and when it comes to his auto-style, it appears the Manchester United captain wants to be an example for everybody to follow. Because, let’s face it they don’t get much better than the BMW i8 plug-in, hybrid sportscar.
The season may have ended recently, but success comes with a cost and being a champ implies working hard. It appears Rooney is already thinking on the next Premier League campaign as he was recently photographed arriving at the first day of pre-season training the other day.

It’s not just a regular appearance, though, as the football Ace was seen rolling into Manchester United’s Carrington training ground in the oh-so-famous BMW i8. Does that mean his saving money off fuel, carrying about the environment or he simply couldn’t stay away from updating his car collection with the new cool in town? Whatever it is, we have to admit the hybrid culture the Germans are spreading around Europe is growing exponentially.

It’s almost like the cards have been dealt. The US of A is all about the Tesla Model S when it comes to the example celebrities want to set, while the old continent is rather into the plug-in hybrids. Sure, this is not a statement, nor is it based on any official figures, it’s just a little assumption based on what we discovered in the past years.

Concerning the environmental friendly thoughts BMW is working on lately, we should probably mention their freshly unveiled 5 Series GT that carries all the tech needed to use hydrogen as fuel. The new model is the brainchild of a long-term collaboration the Germans are running along with Toyota, and we should expect further results in the future.
