Watching Royal Enfield Bikes Pinstriped by Hand Is Mesmerizing

Royal Enfield may not be exactly among the motorcycle manufacturers that spearhead the industry, but the fact that they are an actual retro builder has certain things to it.

If custom bikes come into discussion, it's hard to place a hand-painted machine on the same level of cool with one that is industrially painted by robots. Regardless how intricate and spectacular a bike's graphics may be, if there's no human touch in it, it just can't really compete with any other part, no matter how small, that was hand painted.

Of course, this entire thing depends on what a customer is looking for when getting ready to fork out some money. We saw robot-painted bike parts that look so amazing that we could almost swear they were handmade. Someday, in the not-so-distant future, robots will be able to deliver results that are hard to tell from hand-crafted paint jobs, but for the actual artists, that would be a sad day.

The truth is that such Royal Enfields are more of a collectible item in the western markets because they are often plagued by various issues that reduce their "dependability score," while on the power and torque side, they are modest, to say the least.

However, learning that many of these machines have their pinstripes painted by hand makes them all the more attractive. We won't even go into the details of such a job, because simply thinking about this makes the hands shake a bit. And then we remember that hand-painted pinstripes were the rule of thumb back in the day for almost all bike manufacturers...
