It appears that Suzuki is taking things extremely seriously as far as the return to MotoGP is concerned. While they pushed the return season one year further, the biggest challenge was jumping from the V4 architecture to an in-line 4 engine.
The endeavor is going to be a really big one for Suzuki. Almost 2 seconds slower in the official tests at Misano, and still running with the old Mitsubishi ECU, Suzuki was however, almost on par with what Ducati could put up one year ago.

Anyway, the next major step is adopting the mandatory Magneti Marelli ECU and... possibly the spec software, in case they can't make it into a full factory team on the 2015 grid. With two more years before new regulations, such as rev limit and mandatory spec software at the horizon, Suzuki's engineers and test pilots do have a lot of work ahead.

What's really interesting is that this initial quarter of the whole documentary clearly states that Suzuki is also looking forward to implement finding on the MotoGP track into it's other in-line 4 sport bikes, namely the GSX-R family.
