Just like we anticipated earlier today when we showed you the first spyshots, Porsche engineers are benchmarking the new 911 GT2 against the 997 GT2 RS, meaning we are in for a real performance car when it launches next year.
2013 has been packed with news of hybrid sportscar and supercar technology, from the McLaren P1 to the LaFerrari and the Porsche 918. But in 2014 we'll get back to what's really important for supercar lovers: uncompromising performance.
Ferrari will launch the the 458 Monte Carlo, McLaren will probably give the MP4 more power and Porsche will have its ultimate track tool coming in the form of this 911 GT2.
The high performance coupe will be able to jump from 0 to 100 in 3 seconds and shoot past 200 mph (322 km/h). Expect the new 911 GT2 to lap the Nurburgring in somewhere between 7:18 (997 GT2 RS time) and 7:14 (current fastest 918 Spyder lap time).
