Watch the BMW M2 Thunder Down Laguna Seca for No Reason

A couple of hours ago, BMW let us have some footage it captured at the Laguna Seca Raceway with the M2 performance coupe and the M2 safety car. We see absolutely no reason not to share the magic with you guys.
BMW M cars are like the angrier versions of the cars your father wished he could drive. All of them ar fresh, vicious machines that like nothing better than to make Porsches seem expensive and slow. We love the 2 Series even as a 220d, while the M235i is a work of art. Not surprisingly, BMW deems us unworthy of the M2 and is restricting supply.

The little coupe was already masculine. But the M people gave it extra-wide fenders and large wheels. If you are a car guy, looking at the M2 will make you bite the back of your hand. Unlike the M235i, all the air intakes work, and the quad exhaust system is necessary. That's because under the hood is something similar to what you may find in the M4.

Power has been lowered a little, but it's still at a level where the Porsche Cayman is shaking in its boots: 370 PS. Unlike the Audi RS3 and Mercedes A45 AMG, the engine is mounted longitudinally and sends power only to the back wheels. Also unlike those two, the M2 lets you change gears using a manual if you want.

BMW designers believe we are all stupid and don't know how to configure a cult car. They may be right, and the options list is really short. The M2 can be ordered in blue, black, white and gray; the wheels stay the same, and there's only one interior, which is black with contrast stitching.

If you get the automatic, the M2 has an awesome burnout mode. The manual gearbox will also blip the throttle on downshifts. Drift mode? Are you kidding, this car is one big drift mode. Honestly, if you don't like the baby M, you and I can't be friends.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
