Watch the 2015 Ford Mustang GT Tackle the Goodwood Hill Climb

Even though it has been almost two weeks since the 2014 Goodwood Festival of Speed wrapped up, automakers are still posting exciting videos as they dig through their collective SD cards. Amidst all of the various exotic hypercars and performance prototypes that wowed the crowds at the hill climb, Ford of Europe had the all-new 2015 Ford Mustang GT on hand for some demonstrations.

The good news is that Ford had some cameras on hand to make a cool video of the car performing the legendary hill climb, but like many other automakers, they just couldn’t resist the urge to drown out the Mustang’s thunderous exhaust note with some lame music. Aside from the annoying music, the video has great footage of the sixth-gen Mustang showing off in front of European enthusiasts.

Although Ford does not say how long it took for the new Mustang took to perform the hill climb, driver Paul Swift did an amazing job piloting this car up the 1.16-mile course. Being the GT model, this U.S.-spec Mustang is powered by a 420-hp, 5.0-liter V-8, which seems surprisingly low considering some of the other exciting cars that made this year’s hill climb included the Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge, Koenisegg One:1 and, of course, the record-setting run laid down by the 2015 Nissan GT-R NISMO Time Attack.

Outside of auto shows, this might be the first time that the Mustang has been on display for the public, and what a way to make an entrance. This 2015 Ford Mustang was a GT model painted up in the obligatory Race Red hue with wonderfully contrasting black wheels. After Goodwood, this very car likely headed straight from West Sussex to Silverstone for this weekend’s Silverstone Classic where the annual event will be hosting a special celebration honoring 50 years of the Mustang.
