Ask someone what’s better between a BMW and a Lexus, and you’ll be amazed by how many people say the German brand is the winner. But put them in an actual test with the two cars and see their reaction afterwards.
Lexus is oriented towards sportiness more than ever now and managed to catch up and even beat some of its competitors regarding both quality and performance. Not your mom's quiet sedan anymore... well it it's still a luxury quiet sedan, but you get the point.
AMCI conducted a test at the beginning of the year putting the new Lexus GS 350 F Sport head to head against the BMW 535i M Sport. Shockingly, they discovered that the Lex beats the Bimmer in almost every category - handling on wet and dry pavement, performance with ESC off, cornering, slalom and more.
However, the same tests have been redone but this time leaving aside the ‘lab part’ and putting real people give both performance sedans a try. As a reminder, the GS 350 is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine making 306 hp while the BMW 535i stashes a 3-liter inline-six making 306 hp.
