You can’t talk about 90s Japanese car legends without mentioning the Toyota Supra and the Nissan Skyline GT-R. These cars single-handedly blew up the car culture scene in the 90s. To date, the two nameplates hold a massive following when it comes to global JDM. TRC (That Racing Channel) recently featured RMC Miami’s rare-built Toyota Supra that belonged to the Legendary 'Smokey' Nagata.
Kazuhiko 'Smokey' Nagata has a reputation in the automotive alley. In 1998, he was busted by authorities attempting to do 200 mph (322 kph) on a British road. He fell short at 194 mph (197 kph) but still made a record.

His ballsy stunt got him in trouble, but as they say, “there’s nothing like bad press.” His stunt was captured on camera and instantly went “VHS” viral in the tuner community, breaking new dawn for his company – Top Secret.

Besides being a speed violation specialist, Smokey Nagata is also known for taking out arguably the best engine (2JZ) from a Toyota Supra and replacing it with the better variant, an RB26. For lovers of early JDM race cars, this car is the Ratatouille of Japanese car recipes.

RMC Miami is in possession of the legendary outlaw Supra.

This car has been shipped to New Zealand, where he was also arrested in this car. He achieved 197 mph in the rain, on the streets,” Danny of RMC Miami said.

According to Danny, this rare Supra has covered more than 100,000 miles of street racing. It went through a complete overhaul at Top Secret two years ago. The engine was rebuilt, and a new clutch and turbo installed.

It was actually owned by a super large Supra dealer in Japan. This guy mainly sold Supras, which all had 2JZs. Being a Supra owner, this is what he owned. Imagine you have 50 Supras, but your personal car has an RB26,” Danny revealed.

The RB26 engine in a Supra is an ingenious creation for top speed. 2JZs naturally have low-end torque, but to achieve 200 mph (322 kph), Smokey needed high-end power, which the RB26 generously offered.
