The collaboration between Ducati and Akrapovic yielded the best of results for both companies, and the video after the jump is only a small testimony of how well the Italian bike maker and the Slovenian exhaust specialists get together.
The exhaust system Akrapovic designed for the Ducati 1199 Panigale brought the Slovenians the most revered award in industrial design, the Red Dot Award in 2014. That exhaust system is regarded as being one of the benchmarks in the segment, packing both technically-advanced engineering that enhances the bike's performance and aesthetic perfection that integrates with the attire of the machine.

To get a better and bigger picture of how important that award is, we'll tell you that the Evo Line exhaust system for the Ducati 1199 Panigale won a battle against over 4800 other products from all walks of life. Akrapovic was the best of 1800 manufacturers, designers and architects coming from 33 countries, and this is not a small feat.

The video below tries to condensate in 60 seconds all the hard work and the prowess of Akrapovic's employees, from those who design the exhausts to those who put them together by hand.

Akrapovic is arguably the biggest name in motorcycle exhausts, both in the street-legal and the racing segments. Ducati is only one of the bike manufacturers that have an extensive agreement with Akrapovic regarding their racing programs, with Borgo Panigale using Slovenian exhausts both in World Superbike and MotoGP.

In fact, Akrapovic seems to be one of the brands that factories and independent teams alike favor, and they've recently added their 100th world title to the record, with Jorge Lorenzo's 2015 MotoGP crown.

Tapping into the car world is only one of the new directions in which Akrapovic is expanding their business, with the Slovenian manufacturer also starting to produce exhaust systems for cruisers. Harley-Davidson and Victory being the first of the cruiser manufacturers that received special-design Akra cans, and we're positive that more will follow soon.
