Watch and Learn: Inexperienced Rider Fails to Anticipate Incoming Car

This is a true textbook accident, and by all means, it's one of the crashes which can be easily avoided.. provided the riders know how to "read" the signs around them.
Some less experienced riders might argue that it was the driver's fault, and there is some truth in this: yes, the car steers left and should give way to incoming vehicles. However, please not that there are two lines of cars which came to a halt, thus leaving room for those who want to steer left.

This is most likely happening because the traffic in front is jammed and it makes no sense blocking the adjacent street, too. This is (or should be for what's worth) a major sign for the rider splitting lanes: if all the cars have come to a complete stop, he or she should also slow down and be ready to come to a halt.

In this case, the rider ignored the situation, crashing into the car steering left. And by all means, we'd share the fault 50-50 between the two, since the driver had absolutely no chance to see the rider filtering through the traffic, whereas the motorcyclist should have split lanes with way more awareness.

In the end it looks like nobody got hurt too bad, and that's good.
