Elephants are the largest living land animals in Asia which means meeting one while in a car won’t be much of a help in case the animal gets aggressive. They might be quite docile creatures, used by humans most of the times, but when they are not it’s better to stay away. These video taken in the Khao Yai National Park in Thailand recently stand as proof.
According to what wildlife researchers have found, at most seasons of the year, Asian elephants are timid and much more ready to flee from a foe than to attack. However, solitary rogues are frequently an exception to this rule and sometimes make unprovoked attacks on passers-by. When it does get aggressive, an Asian elephant makes a charge, it tightly curls up its trunk and attacks by trampling its victim with feet or knees.

OK, this might sound a bit creepy, but that’s probably what the elephant seen in the video below is doing. Whether it’s checking out the car and just leaning on it or actually climbs on top of the other vehicle, one thing is clear - you don’t want to be in any of those rides.

Now, some animal lovers might believe the poor elephant was trying to save those people out of the metal can, while others who fear them would probably think it should be put to sleep. We’re not going to take sides, but we have to admit the fact that as opposed to animals, us humans should be smart enough to keep things safe. Since we understand that nobody was injured in the odd rendezvous, there’s another thing we’re curious of, who’s paying for the cars.

As to the reason the elephant started playing with the cars in the first place, wildlife experts later said that the male elephant most likely did it because it was in the mood for some cuddling. In fact, it would appear it had attacked previous cars in similar encounters earlier this month.
