As there are many fans that restore Mustangs back to every single original detail, you will ask “Well, what is it so special with this one? I’ve seen dozens of Mustangs being reborn.”

Well this one has been built by custom hot rod builder Bodie Stroud and it is kind of unique. He likes to implement new technology into classic American muscles, so he took one of the rarest Bosses out there, chopped it and modified it’s unibody to fit a custom made chassis. To make it more maneuverable than the old car, he fitted independent pneumatic suspension for both axles and lowered the car as much as possible.

The interior was custom made, with a new handcrafted dashboard that englobes the classic Mustang instrumentation, leather upholstery and modern touches like electric adjustable seats.

And now comes the icing on the cake; mounted way back on the new chassis, there is an extremely rare engine built specifically for legendary racer Mario Andretti’s 1969 Can Am series race car. Rebuilt and mounted on the dyno, the 8-liter (494 cui) V8 toped 777 hp. As soon as the car hit Sema Car Show, Mario Andretti saw the car, recognized the engine and signed it with a cheesy smile on his face, making this car unique.

Certainly this is one of the best Mustangs ever restored. Have a look at the montage that showcases the whole project.
