Warsaw Gets London Taxis

The Polish Dufort London Taxis company yesterday organized a launching ceremony for the introduction of the London Taxi Service to Warshaw. The event was housed by the company at one of its locations in the Polish capital.

"I have been working for a long time to bring this fantastic vehicle to Poland and people love it just as much as I do” Jacek Kurovski, Managing director of Dufort, said. “I am now able to help taxi companies in Poland offer a real alternative to the cheap cramped saloon taxis or the expensive limousines."

To bring the famous cars to Poland the company collaborated with the London Taxi Company which is the international sales arm of the British LTI company responsible for the manufacturing process.

As far as we can tell from the pictures the car is LTI’s TX4 model, which inherits its styling cues form its predecessor, the TXII. It has a new radiator grille, an updated interior, fresh front and rear bumpers. The car uses a 2.5 liter diesel engine which is mated to a automatic transmission manufactured by GM, while a 5 speed manual gearbox is also available. The car can accommodate 5 passengers and weighs 1,895 kg (4,178 lb).

According to the manufacturer’s website, in Britain the TX4 has a whopping retail price of 29,910 pounds. However, we believe that specials deals are available (and imperiously necessary if you ask us) for business clients who purchase fleets.
