According to Green Car Reports, MINI USA decided to axe the Clubvan from its line-up due to poor sales. The model was just introduced in the US this year and only 50 units were reportedly sold until now.
That's because the US legislation imposed the so-called 'chicken tax' of 25% because the Clubvan was deemed as a commercial vehicle.  "Relatively low demand and the effect of an excessive 25-percent tax on vehicles for commercial use (known as 'the Chicken Tax')" were the main reasons behind this decision, according to Nathalie Bauters, MINI US' Communications Manager.

Now, here's where our tip becomes useful. Since there were only 50 Clubvans sold in the US, in a while they will become collectibles, making you a very happy person if you bought one now.

The Clubvan is inspired by it's Clubman brother and features a flat load floor behind the front seats, making it a pretty useful car with virtually unlimited possibilities. On the long run though, a clean, all-original version would be better in regards of higher profits.
