The 2013 Benchmark packs in a whopping 124cui (2,031cc) v-twin power plant which delivers 140 HP. This might not seem tat much, but as we tell you that the 2013 Walz Benchmark weighs in less than 450 lbs (204 kg), things start to get really serious, as we're getting into the sport bike's performance realm.

The 2013 Benchmark needed more than 700 man-hours for completion, but the result is as close to dragster perfection as it gets. With many of the parts being constructed together with the top-notch manufacturers in the racing world (including some MotoGP technology), it's small wonder that the new Benchmark is a proper reference for the class.

Öhlins, Akrapovic, Brembo, BST Blackstone, LSL, S&S, they've all done their best to provide the new Walz creation with the absolute perfomance they can harness. This particular machine stepped up from the base price of €129,000 ($167,980) to more than €195,000 ($253,930), with the addition of a MotoGP-spec Öhlins FG900 fork, the 124cui S&S engine, a full-carbon kit, racing carbon-ceramic rotors.

All in all, the parts alone are more expensive than 90% of the custom bikes money can buy on either sides of the Atlantic. Add in the carbon wheels and the custom Akrapovic titanium exhaust system and things are really blurring the border between street bikes and MotoGP prototypes... but the 2013 Benchmark is street-legal.

Oh, and that's really Jay Kay of Jamiroquai and his '65 Aston Martin Volante, quite the perfect companion for the new Walz monster.
