Yeah, but why do we care, it’s not like we’d ever go to Disney World. Well, you might think so, but then again are you certain you're able to say no to your kids? Since the answer to this question most likely is no, we’re going to move forward with our piece and tell you more about it.
Forbes named it the most visited vacation resort in the world for a reason, didn’t they? After all, we’re looking at a place with an attendance of 25 million people annually. One of the reasons WDW keeps things smooth and running apparently has something to do with their capacity to reinvent themselves over and over again.

Since we’re quite sure you’ve been there at least once, you probably observed that the restaurants keep changing, the old ones are replaced by the new. One of the fresh cribs to join the crowd is Boathouse, an upscale waterfront dining place built over the water. It’s a 600 seat nautically themed restaurant that features a display of rare dream boats from the 1930s-1950s, a beautifully crafted water taxi and a fleet of amphibious autos, called Amphicars.

For $125 one gets their Car Captain and seating for up to three guests. Along the way, you’ll have a great view of Downtown Disney, directly from the water. Tours are available from 10 a.m to 10 p.m. depending on the weather, of course.

However, what truly caught our attention is the amphibious automobile. In case you haven’t heard of it, we’ll take the time to tell you all about it.

It’s the first such vehicle mass-produced for sale to the public starting in 1961. Hanns Trippel designed the German vehicle, and it was manufactured by the Quandt Group at Lubeck and Berlin-Borsigwalde. Created especially for the U.S. compared to most of the other cars, its performance was modest, and only 4,000 were produced by 1965. Apparently about 400 units still exist today, which makes this Disney ride worth mentioning.
