Wald International Whips the Audi A5 Sportback into Shape

The A5 is by no means the youngest Audi in the barn. In fact it's positively old, having been around since the days of the previous generation BMW 3 Series. However, this quattro coupe is a firm favorite with aficionados and tuners from across the world, including Japan, the land of GT-Rs and Nismos.

This latest custom project comes from the Land of the Rising Sun, more specifically the famed makers of the Black Bison kit, Wand International. They took a five-door A5 Sportback and gave it that famous whip look using larger wheels, a lowered stance and cosmetic tweaks that bring the whole thing closer to the ground.

The Sportsline package starts with a new front spoiler providing extra air intakes and a red chin blade. A new color theme has also been introduced – black on white with red accents. The standard A5 Sportback normally doesn't have any visible side skirts, but Wald changed that and added character to the profile of the vehicle.

Finally, the rear bumper features large inserts which have a geometric design and fit flush against a set of twin double-oval exhausts, a trademark of the Japanese firm. Customers can order only the exhaust tips which work with any V6 model or order a complete exhaust system. A small spoiler has also been added to the top of the boot lid.

Designed to fit the A5 facelift model, the Wald Sportsline model looks restrained and classy, just like the Audi itself. From Moscow to Massachusetts, we think many current owners will try and order one of these packages in the coming months.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
