The Mercedes-Benz A-Class is a bit of an oddball in Japan, in fact all Mercs are. This can be easily seen in the fact that the A-Class debut was market by an anime and the fact they have Germanic-named special editions like "Schwartz".
There's also a bright side to the fact that the A-Class is available in Japan, and that is the fact that WALD International has been able to gain access to the car and tune it.
Their body kit, which is being previewed today ahead of what will likely be a Tokyo debut, is done in the typical Black Bison style. A completely reworked front bumper with uncharacteristic dark black elements dominates the design. Also visible in this first teaser photo are the reduced height, larger alloy wheels and new skirts.
We like what WALD have done with the car, especially since they didn't mess with the headlights or grille. But maybe they should have gone for more shadowline trim.
