Looking back at the automobiles built 100 years ago, most of you would agree that they look rather weird compared to what we are driving today. But there’s nothing wrong with it... to each his own, as they say.
However, while they can trigger stunning appearances at automotive events, especially when surrounded by accurately-equipped drivers, or even staff if its a race car, these old vehicles can look a bit weird in some circumstances.
For example, take this Mercedes 60HP that showed up at Goodwood today. It’s in good shape and it doesn’t need a body to speed up hill. It fits perfectly among other vintage vehicles. But there’s something awfully wrong in this pictures - the driver and the passenger are totally out of context with their modern racing suits and helmets.
Don’t get us wrong, we mean no disrespect, but the scene would fit much better in Hanna-Barbera’s Wacky Races animated television series. Dastardly and Muttley could be right around the corner planning yet another evil scheme.
