The upcoming Mercedes-Benz C-Class (W205) is nearing its launch date, making it the fourth generation that bears this name but the fifth compact executive car in the German manufacturer's history if we're also counting the original “Baby Benz”, the 190 (W201).
The AMG version of the current C-Class is, along with the SLS AMG, the last Mercedes-Benz models who will sport the fabulous 6.2-liter normally aspirated V8, which was created inhouse by AMG. All future AMG models will feature direct injection and turbocharging, with the W205 AMG C-Class receiving a four-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that will have a version shared with the “baby SLS”, or SLC – as most automotive media calls it – with around 480 hp and 700 Nm (516 lb ft).

Caught here by our friends at Automedia, the next C 63 AMG is still wearing heavy camouflage but we can pretty much guess its overall shape just by looking at the most revealing spyshots of the W205 C-Class.

There are some reports saying that the four-liter V8 is being developed starting from combining two inline-four mills from the A, CLA and GLA 45 AMG, thus creating the highly coveted V8 engine type.

We're not sure how true that is and AMG will obviously never admit it, but we'll just have to wait for the official engine displacement figures to find out if that's true or not.

Not only that, but the C-Class AMG version depicted in the gallery bellow might also follow its bigger brothers in the lineup and also get 4Matic all-wheel drive and a more powerful S-Model version, which would pretty much make it a Nissan GTR fighter with four doors and a big trunk. Stay tuned for more info about the subject in the next couple of months.
