Tensions are rising on the European car scene, as the industry begins to suffer as a result of bad sales. Now, VW are threatening to leave the European automotive industry group ACEA (European Automotive Manufacturers Association) after a dispute with Fiat CEO, Sergio Marchionne.
The Italian criticized the German giant for “being too aggressive in its pricing strategy when conditions are already tough in the European auto industry.” VW, a company pricing its products just above the competition has responded in the same aggressive manner, accusing Marchionne of not being fit to be President of ACEA.

Now, VW is demanding that Marchionne resign from the position of President, otherwise the Wolfsburg group have announced that they will be leaving the organization. To us, this seems very childish of VW to make statements and threats like that. If they can’t offer a diplomatic and constructive answer, maybe they should leave ACEA and fend for themselves - it’s not like they wouldn’t be able to - this is VW, after all.
