India’s love of cool cars is only matched by their problems with high taxation and expensive fuel. So to solve the problem, Volkswagen is going to offer a hot diesel in India. And by hot we mean semi-hot... room temperature.
According to AutoCarIndia, the Polo GTD with arrive next year power by a 1.6-liter TDI producing 105 horsepower. That’s no more than you get in any other VW product, but the Polo will also be lightened by 90 kg.
It will also sport the same sort of body kit, big wheels and low profile tires as a Polo GTI would. However, don’t expect the car to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 10 seconds.
The Skoda Fabia could follow in VW steps and offer the same semi-hot 105 hp diesel engine.
