This year, the Volkswagen Passat was named the best new company car of 2011 in Britain at a ceremony attended by almost 1,400 fleet industry representatives this week. Fleet News Awards presided the event, and other notable awards included BMW’s accolade of Fleet Manufacturer of the Year, but Ford, Skoda, SEAT, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Toyota and BMW were all awarded in the car categories.
The Ford Fiesta and Focus won the Best Small Car and Best Lower Medium Car categories, while the Volkswagen Passat also won Best Upper Medium Car, according to Fleet News.

All cars were rated on criteria such as economy, dependability maintenance and repair costs, what they cost to tax or lease, and also the level of manufacturer support you get.

But the Company Car of the Year and Fleet Manufacturer of the Year awards are actually decided based on readers’ votes.
