Volkswagen’s British division has now opened the order books for the Passat Alltrack, with the vehicle set to arrive in showrooms on 28 May. We’ll remind you that the Alltrack is based on the Estate, comes with VW’s 4MOTION four-wheel drive system, uses a heftier ground clearance, also bringing body protections for when tackling more difficult terrain.
The UK market gets a single trim, with customers being able to choose between two powerplants: a 2.0-liter TDI with 140 hp with a six-speed manual, as well as the 170 hp version of the engine, which comes with a six-speed DSG double clutch gearbox.
The first comes with a starting price of GBP28,475, while the latter is offered for GBP31,025. The list of standard equipment includes Alcantara upholstery, two-zone electronic climate control, RNS 315 touchscreen satellite navigation, DAB radio, MDI iPod connectivity, Bluetooth telephone preparation, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring system and 18-inch Canyon alloy wheels. As for standard safety features, we’ll mention the Driver Alert System, which detects driver fatigue, and the ESP.
