Everybody knows that if you want to turn a woman on, you have to be able to perform a handbrake turn and the smell of gasoline needs to be impregnated into your very being.
Until now, there was no other way of doing that besides actually going to the gas station and sprinkling yourself with the fuel of dinosaur fossils. But some people see that as an act of terrorism or suicide and spray you with fire retardant foam.

Being a German automaker, Volkswagen took this problem very seriously and found a solution. They launched Mémoire de Pétrole – the fragrance. Inspired by the scent of fuel, it will set your memories in motion and a billion woman will flock to you faster than in an Axe commercial.

This is, of course, a joke, meant to promote the e-Golf, Volkswagen's compact sized electric car. Never having to visit the gas station for fuel is kind of a special thing and while nobody will miss the fuel bills, the smell of gas will be missed.

The e-Golf is all-electric and available since late 2014 in many countries, including the US and most of Europe. The model is based around the MQB platform and replaces its internal combustion engine with an electric one. This produces 85 kW or 115 PS and offers similar performance to that of a normal diesel-engined hatchback, as 0 to 100 km/h takes 10.4 seconds.

Depending on their skill and local roads, buyers should expect a maximum range of between 130 to 190 kilometers per charge. The bad news is it's not going to feel as light on its feet as a regular Golf, since 218 kilograms of battery has been added to the underbody of the car, which makes it quite heavy.
