Volkswagen is another carmaker that's playing the teasing game, and we're not talking about production model here.
Instead, the world's second-largest carmaker is teasing the GTI Supersport Vision Gran Turismo, a virtual concept tailored for the Gran Turismo 6 video game.
But wait, didn't VW come up with a Vision Gran Turismo prototype last year? Well, that's a good question. The answer is yes, they did, but that one was called the Vision GTI Roadster as it had no roof and no pillars.
This year's version is, in fact, a follow-up of that version, but it will come dressed as a three-door hatchback equipped with a wide body kit. The hardcore factor is still there, and exterior design tells the whole story: aggressive front splitter made of carbon fiber, beefed-up wheel arches and a massive spoiler made of, what else than carbon fiber.
Designers were generous regarding LEDs as the prototype is looking menacing thanks to full LED headlights plus the LED daytime running lights positioned on the front end's extremities.
Since what we get from VW is just a teaser, there's no word on what could power the beast but we might have an idea. You see, last year's concept made a debut during the Worthersee Festival and we know for sure that it had a twin-turbo VR6 TSI.
The 3.0-liter powerhouse pumped 503 HP (in the game, of course) and 665 Nm (491 lb-ft) towards a 4MOTION all-wheel drive setup through a DSG gearbox.
