VW Group Reaches 4 Million Vehicle Deliveries

Volkswagen Group managed to exceed car and SUVs deliveries of 4 million cars for the first time, fact made possible by a growing demand in all markets. Also, deliveries in June took an up-course by 9.8% to 438,500 vehicles. The manufacturer will release individual sales figures for all its brands, including Audi, Bentley and Lamborghini.

The company has shown good results for the first six months, but without detailing the figures. The official figure release is planned on July 28, according to the undermentioned source.

"Volkswagen continues to stay on the accelerator in all markets and vehicle segments,"
CEO Martin Winterkorn was quoted as saying by Detroit Free Press.

The car division of the manufacturer grew 12% in the first six months of the year to 2.53 million vehicles, as related by VW Group .
If the growth continues on a steady course Volkswagen will bypass Toyota on markets like Brazil, Russia, India and China no later that 2018. VW expects global sales will increase 5% this year after posting a record 7.2 million deliveries of cars, SUV and vans in 2010.

The manufacturers sales expansion main automotive unit was driven by a 22% jump to more than 237.000 vehicles in North America, meaning a 13% gain to 852,800 units in China, manufacturer’s biggest auto market, and a 42% increase to 92,300 vehicles in central and eastern Europe. Plans have also been made by VW Group to invest $71.8 bilion in its development for the next 5 years. Also the manufacturer will hire more that 50.000 workers through 2018 in order to increase sales to more that 10 million vehicles per year.
