VW Golf with Audi RS Twin-Turbo V10 Engine Has a Heavy Nose, but Goes like Hell

We’ve seen our fair share of engine swaps, but the one we want to discuss today has to be among the sweetest we’ve come across this year.

We say that because we love family business and that’s how we see a Volkswagen Golf with a V10 engine borrowed from an Audi RS6.

This is a good old Golf Mk IV, which has been gifted with five liters of twin-turbo V10 coming from a current-generation Audi RS6. The car can be found over in Eastern Europe, namely in Kosovo.

More powaaah for what used to be a Volkswagen Golf

We are not aware of the engine’s current state, but in stock form, this German heart delivers 571 hp (that’s 580 PS for all you reading this across the pond) and a peak torque of 479 lb-ft (650 Nm).

To keep all that power in check, the Golf uses an all-wheel-drive system. You can check out the car in action in the footage below, where we see the Golf roasting its rear tires a bit before heading for the horizon.

Judging by the soundtrack brought by the clip, as well as by the usual tech mods that accompany such engine swaps, the Golf has been gifted with a custom exhaust system that would easily allow it to aurally shame an RS6.

With the Volkswagen Golf IV being considerably lighter than the Ingolstadtd machine, we also expect a triumph in a potential drag race. Nevertheless, the Volkswagen is probably more nose heavy than an Audi 100. A mid-engine setup would have probably made the car handle a bit better, but it would have been much costlier.

In fact, we have a special kind of curiosity about how this Golf handles. Heck, this isn't even the fastest setup we've seen on such a Golf. Then again, while this may not be the most balanced Golf project car out there, we have to applaud the extreme nature of the build. Oh, and let's not forget the sleeper attitude...
