Following its Debut at the Paris Motor Show in September, the Golf MkVII has received a staggering 40,000 pre-orders in just a few months, this despite the cheaper MkVI still being available.

The model’s launch in its domestic market of Germany will take place this Saturday, November 10th. Potential buyers will be given the opportunity to test drive the new Golf and also enjoy live music and a presentation of the old Golf generations.

From launch, the Golf will come with a choice of four gasoline engines ranging in output from the 85 HP 1.2 to a 140 PS TSI, while only two diesel models will be available 1.6 TDI with 105 PS and 2.0 TSI with 150 PS.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
