For about $35,000, you could buy yourself a Mitsubishi Evo X and drive around the corner really really fast, thinking that you’re some sort of Finnish person with a rally driving license. But you’re not, and the car is noisy and plasticy.
However, there’s a rival you never thought of before. It’s got all-wheel drive and a four-cylinder turbo engine, but one which has been tuned to make a sweet sound through chromed exhausts. It’s also got leather Recaro seats and a front end with heritage. It’s the Golf R.
It’s VW’s idea of performance with a dash of luxury, and also a prime target of the aftermarket industry. This one has been fitted with a custom set of P44SC wheels finished in Satin Silver and forged by the guys at HRE. Check it out in the gallery below, and tell us what you think.
