Until somebody decides to standardize railway stations in a way that will prevent people to drive their cars onto the tracks, we'll keep getting unworthy drivers who act like their four-wheeled machines are public transportation vehicles.
The latest example of this comes from the UK, where a Mk VII Volkswagen Golf GTI (the current model) was driven onto the tracks at Manchester's Piccadilly railway station.
The poor GTI was taken halfway along the platform of the station, ending up trapped between the tracks and the wall of the platform. And, in case you're wondering how desperate the driver was in order to pull such a "stunt", you should know the man was reportedly being chased by the police.
Fortunately, the shocking episode took place on early on Monday (at about 3AM), meaning there were no delays caused by the incident.
The British Transport Police (Manchester) even tweeted an image of the Vee-Dub resting on the tracks with a damaged hood, as well as a crushed front wing and door mirror.
And while having a driver taking the GTI onto the tracks and slowly reversing it towards the exit could've been a possibility, the barbaric pickup truck tow job seen here certainly took its toll on the once-fast Golf - the soundtrack alone is enough to make an enthusiasts cringe, while the background laughing at the end only makes things worse.

Alas, the solution chosen for the removal of the vehicle was not the best one. As you'll be able to see in the piece of footage at the bottom of the page, which comes from The MANC Bible, the poor hot hatched was dragged along the tracks, with extra damage being caused to both its body and the mechanical components underneath the machine.Job from yesterday, driver wanted to be a tram driver for the day..
