The guys at AutoForum.cz are testing two… hot hatches from Volkswagen Group back to back and we think their findings are quite interesting. While comparing the Golf 7 GTI Performance with DSG gearbox, they found the gearing is too long compared to the quick-shift manual in the less powerful Octavia vRS.
The 230 hp Golf hot hatch has a fantastic start off the line, but it actually loses speed going into S2. Another thing they found was that the launch control system isn't perfect and that the rev limiter stops you from going above say 3000rpm while the car is stationary.

AutoForum.cz says the 4th, 5th and 6th gears of the automatic double-clutch are too long and suggest you go for the cheaper manuals.
