VW, Daimler, Citroen Management Change

In what may very well be considered as the "autumn restructuring campaign," personnel shuffle and changes seem to have engulfed car manufacturers. The latest from this "transfer" market comes from two German manufacturers, Daimler and Volkswagen, and a French one, Citroen.

Volkswagen's new head of production and logistics will be Hubert Waltl, former Audi apprentice. Waltl will replace Jochem Heizmann, who moved up to become Volkswagen board member in charge of production.

For Daimler, the departure of Klaus Maier from the position of Daimler head of global sales and marketing, due to personal reasons, has called for a reshuffle of the management within the company.

As a result, Peter Alexander Trettin has been appointed head of sales for Mercedes-Benz cars in central and eastern Europe, Africa and Asia, effective October 1. He will replace Joachim Schmidt, who will move on take the seat left vacant by Maier. Trettin will be replaced in turn by Harald Schuff, until now in charge with Mercedes' sales and service centers.

Citroen on the hand will appoint as head of Christophe Musy European sales, who will replace Frederic Banzet, appointed Citroen managing director since June. Additionally, Peter Weis will succeed Musy and will become the first German native to head Citroen's German operations since 1950.

Earlier today, McLaren Automotive announced the appointment of the two North American and European regional directors: Anthony Joseph for NA and Christian Marti for Europe. The two will be in charge with the creation of the manufacturer's franchise network, in light of the 2011 launch of the MP4-12C model.
