Mexican-based sportscar manufacturer VUHL has announced that their brand new 05 model will go into production later this month due to the vehicle’s successful public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
“Our aim for Goodwood was quite specific – to accrue sufficient orders for a batch of 20 ‘Edition One’ (top specification) models and, with the serious enquiries already received from the UK, central Europe, USA and Mexico, we are well on the way to achieving that and more. Production will therefore commence in November as planned, with the first cars due to enter customers’ hands during the spring of next year,” said VUHL Automotive director Guillermo Echeverria.
As a reminder, the VUHL 05 weighs only 695 kg (1,532 lbs) and draws its power from a Ford Focus ST-sourced turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost engine that delivers 289 HP and 420 Nm (310 lb-ft) of torque. The sportscar also uses a six-speed manual, an unequal double wishbone suspension, a four-pot alloy caliper braking system, carbon bucket seats, and 17/18-inch OZ alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin tires.
