Vorsteiner unveiled their GTRS4 widebody kit for the new BMW M4 last year and they had a rather small welcoming party for it. As a matter of fact, I remember some people claiming that it was simply too much and that it wouldn’t do the car any favors.
Well, admittedly, the widebody kits we have on the market today are not for everyone’s taste. Heck, none of them can be truly regarded as a viable alternative for everyone. However, out of the range we have to pick from, this one stands out as the best choice, at least from my point of view.

What other choices do you have? Well, there are basically just two other choices: the Liberty Walk and Duke Dynamics. While Liberty Walk do a great job their biggest flaw is the way the kit is attached to the car.

Their approach uses bolt-ons and they are extremely visible. Some prefer it that way, probably wanting people to know that their car is not stock (like they couldn’t already from the flared fenders). Even so, we’re pretty sure a more subtle approach would be preferred by most customers out there. Not that there’s anything subtle about the GTRS4 kit though.

It is made out of carbon fiber entirely and includes a front bumper with an integrated front splitter, wide front fenders (2 inches / 5 cm wider on each side), aero side blade elements, wide rear fenders (3.5 inches / 8.9 cm wider than stock on each side), a new rear bumper with an integrated diffuser and new quad tip exhaust finishers (90 mm in diameter).

Of course, you’re also going to need some special rims so that whatever you’re riding on doesn’t end up looking like shopping cart wheels. Vorsteiner’s offering includes a set of Forged GTRS4 3-piece wheels measuring 20x10.5 inches up front and 20x13.5 inches round the back.

Now, as I said before, this kind of kit isn’t for everyone but as far as I’m concerned, if I had to pick one, I’d go with Vorsteiner. Check out the photos in the gallery below and tell me you think otherwise.
