When we tested the Volvo V40 Cross Country earlier this year, we labeled it as an excellent crossover that's a good alternative to what the Germans have to offer. It's brilliant in the city, good on the open road, and it's as premium as it gets.
The 2.5-liter five-cylinder mill delivers 254 HP and 360 Nm, which is pretty much enough for this small crossover, but those looking for more oomph can call the folks over at Heico Sportiv. Their new V40 T5 HPC boasts 320 HP and 510 Nm thanks to an array of updates and can churn up to 350 HP via a water-ethanol injection system. The latter will allow it to sprint to 100 km/h from a standing start in 5.6 seconds and to a top speed of 265 km/h.
To make the new power output handy, Heico also fitted the V40 with a sport suspension that lowered the car by 30mm, a six-piston sport brake system and 19-inch wheels. The exterior was enhaced by a lightweight body kit and a Matt Toxic Green film with black accents, while the interior gained Recaro sport seats, sport steering wheel, Alcantara handbrake and gearshift and aluminum pedals.
Unveiled about five months ago, the Heico Sportiv Volvo V40 T5 HPC just showed up at Essen Motor Show 2013 and it's getting all the attention it deserves.
