Volvo Car Group reports global retail sales of 35,864 cars for the month of November, representing a 6.5 percent decline versus the same month a year before. The company is doing particularly well in the US, where demand has increased by 26.8 percent based on increased sales of the XC60 crossover.
As a result, the US is now the biggest export marketplace, with about a six of all Volvos sold globally going to American customers in November. US retail sales of the XC60 are up by no less than 47 per cent for the first eleven months of the year.
Meanwhile, the European demand continued to plummet, though Volvo is likely to end the year only 10% down compared to 2011.Sales in Sweden declined although Volvo represented more than 18 per cent of the market thanks to four models on the top ten list. In China, demand decreased by 22%, even though November was the second best month for the XC60.
