Volvo Snowbombing Festival in April

Swedish manufacturer Volvo plans to have a lot of fun this year. Caught in between its sailing endeavors in the Volvo Ocean Race and the green fields of the Volvo China Open, the car maker thought a little snow in its life wouldn't hurt.

This is why this week, the car maker announced it had partnered with the organizers of the Snowbombing festival to give all those interest a whole week of music and snow sports. To be held this April (4-9) in the alpine resort of Mayrhofen, Austria, the show will be one to remember.

Prodigy, Fatboy Slim, Pendulum, Magnetic Man, Professor Green, a lot of bands, Djs and Plus Comedy will be in charge with trying to set off an avalanche with their music. Volvo will try and entertain the crowds by setting up the Volvo Ice Camp Party and a Volvo Road Trip.

“Volvo Car Europe is very excited to announce its 2011 headline partnership with Snowbombing, now called Volvo Snowbombing. Snowbombing, like Volvo, is a brand on-the-move and we share many similar values making the headline partnership an ideal match,” said Gareth Cooper from Volvo Snowbombing.

“With innovatively designed luxury cars created with people at the forefront of everything we do it means that Volvo's seamless integration with the event will add even more fun and adventure to Snowbombers."

During the Volvo Ice Camp Party, no less than 250 people will get a free ride from the resort all the way to the Volvo Ice Camp at Kitzsteinhorn Glacier in Kaprun. In addition, the Volvo Road Trip will be bringing to the event, in 250 Volvo cars, guests from all across Europe.
