Signature Scandinavian styling and dynamic driving characteristics with its UK developed chassis are key advantages offered by the all-new S60. The new sedan shows Volvo's completely new design language already seen in the Volvo XC60 concept, while it rides on the same platform as the latter.
Volvo is undergoing a new product alignment, making the S60 a direct competitor for the Mercedes C-Klasse, Audi A4 and the BMW 3-series.
The Volvo S60 is one of the safest cars on the road and features technologically advanced systems like Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto Brake as an option to complete the City Safety package, which is fitted as standard. The vehicle makes use of the latest advances in laser, radar and camera technology to detect a human being above 80 cm (31 in) tall or a vehicle ahead and will automatically apply the brakes if the driver does not react in time.
