Swedish automaker Volvo and racing specialist Polestar Performance have released a video with the recently introduced S60 high-performance sedan.
Scheduled to be sold only in Australia at first, the S60 Polestar is powered by a 3.0-liter inline-six engine that’s good for 345 HP. Although it has about 160 HP less than the concept car it is based on, the S60 is no slouch as it was developed by a company responsible for several successful Volvo-badged racing vehicles.
“What makes this project unique for Polestar is that we have never developed a production car before. We have developed several racing cars and made them successful, but this is a challenge one step further as there are more parameters to take into consideration [...] The thing that I am most proud over with this car is the response from when turning in to a corner. It does not roll over on the front end, you get a good response as a driver and you can really feel where you position the car,” said racing and development driver Robert Dahlgren.
The first Volvo S60 Polestars will reach Australian customers in June with the limited production run to help the automaker determine if the performance sedan will be introduced onto other markets as well.
